Retrofit Trunk Closer

I was just thinkin. If say somebody bought a secondhand car or something like that and wanted the trunk closer, is there a way for it to be retrofitted. From my understanding some motor pulls that cord between the trunk lid and the car causing the trunk to close. If there is a retrofit, how would it be done. Could Steve (is that his name?) do it?

your best bet would be to ask the dealer, or just e-mail steve, when are you getting the s500 btw?

god only knows. I would love to have one next year, but it depends on how good my business will turn out. I havent exactly been workin on that so I need to tonight. And nobody gets answers about my business, so dont bother askin questions. No I dont deal drugs lol. But ne ways, I ask cause if and when I get a S I want that feature. The trunk is too hard to close by hand. Its would save from having people putting their hands all over the trunk lid.

the trunk itsnt that heavy is it.....also, im sure they made handles on the inside like the w211, so you dont need to worry about finger prints, btw, what do you do for your business, and is this your personal car? if so, lemme be your business partner

Duh its my personal car. LOL. It seems hard to close though compared to most car trunks. Most S Classes I have been around had the trunk closer. But the S430 I closed it and even though there was a handle. It required too much effort than I thought should need to close a trunk. Atleast it had the soft close feature.

Instead of buying a car with the money you make that early from the business, invest it back into the business and make it larger and even more lucrative.

smart....I dont plan to spend much money on other things than the car. Anything else spent will just go back to the bus. The car will actually be vital to the bussiness tho.

Interesting....I'm pretty young, I just invest everything I make. I tall started with an IRA, now I'm well diversified in individual stocks/mutual funds, and I'm not even old enough to be in the Nawty Boys Club. Why blow it on an S-class? Invest, invest, invest, invest. Then you can buy all the S-Classes you want. Also, if you want to be as good a businessman as you think, read: The Millionaire Next Door.

Ok well here ya go. I buy the s class. got money left over. invest that in stuff. Why invest it in a S Class. Because I want to, because to me thats a worthy investment, I will keep that car for years. Right now I am reading Think and Grow Rich and have read some of that Millionaire next door. I know plenty about that. I wish people knew what was going on in my head so they would realize, I know this stuff. Everything I set out to do I plan out for months. I have been planning my idea for months to make sure everything goes ok. If I wasnt going to have much money left in the end, I wouldnt even bother with the S and just invest it in something else. But I know if it works the way I want it to then I will have the S and tons of money left over.

To retrofit would probly cost more than the initial option. You would have to replace the interior trunk threshhold, add motor(s), wiring, upgrade the CAN, etc. Labor alone will kill this project. Dealerships are not specialized to perform post "assembly line" projects. Not worth it in my opinion. Just find an S class that already has it installed.

Thats what I will try to do. I love that option and feel almost like its a necessity in my case.
