Angry airmatic

PLEASE HELP ME. I just purchased some 20 inch lowenharts ldr1 for my 2000 S430 ,I never had a problem with the suspension on the car and when the tire shop put the new rims on and lowered the car the car dropped all the way down. The computer reads STOP Car to low in red. I had a friend of mine reset the computer with the Benz computer and still no hydrolics. He said its the Pump. Is this true, the car has 77,000 miles on it and it is a 2000. please help.

I think you may have to replace the pump and/or the airmatic valves. I believe this problem was caused because someone who was working on your car reached through the window and turned the engine on without opening the door. It sounds strange, but I was told that the Airmatic suspension is activated by opening the door. If the engine is turned on without that being done, or while the car is completely off the ground, the airmatic system is thrown out of wack when it tries to adjust itself to the optimal height.

This is what the Benz dealer told me when my airmatic dropped to the ground - and it added up because I had just taken my car to a tire place to have wheel locks put on. I paid $1,200 to get it a new pump and a new valve - you may be able to take legal action vs. the tire place to get reimbursed if you can prove that they did something improper which messed up the airmatic. (I thought about doing it, but the time and aggravation wasn't worth $1200 to me.)

Did they disconnect the battery? I think that causes some warning messages to come up and all you have to do is turn the steering wheel all the way one way and then all the way the other way.

Ajayz , thats the first thing I tried to do is disconnect the battery and nothing happened. Then i turn the wheel all the way to the left and right but the car was so low that the tire was rubbing the fender. Thanks alot .
