Aux cord?

Hello, so after finding where my 03 s class Aux input was, I now need the cord. Any special place to buy it? I want to plug in my Iphone 6....

Will this one do?

My AUX plug is in the glove compartment on the left side. I plug my cord into the headphone jack on the IPOD and the other end into the AUX. Works great with steering wheel controls but it doesn't charge the IPOD and doesn't show the songs on the command screen.

Yeah just get any 3.5mm cord with the same plug on both ends - one goes on your headphone jack and one plugs on the car

Don't get the usb one because your car can't charge the phone through the aux port.

There are differences in these cords...

I used one that I had lying around. It had the correct plugs on each end, and was new. Result was noise and low volume. Buying a higher-quality cord solved both problems.

Bottom line - if you are unhappy with the sound quality, try a good cord.

I bought the Smart Mini Aux gadget. I use the cord so that I can talk on my phone but, if I just wanted to stream music, I could plug the gadget directly into the AUX input. Eiter way, I can connect to my stereo with Bluetooth & not have to plug in anything each time I get in the car.

leave it plugged in

It comes with a cord that you leave plugged in & mount the unit in the cabin. I have mine on my center console at the lower left of the ashtray. I've tucked the cord into the seam that runs right back to the glove box.
It works great for streaming & for hands-free phone calls.
Using the AUX input does not give the best sound from the Bose system but you can adjust bass & treble to your preference. There are other options but I don't change them so I won't speak to that stuff. The bothersome thing is that you have to adjust these settings every time you start your car. There are worse things in the world that bug me but this still seems dumb.
If you do not want to use this thing for phone calls, you can plug the unit directly into the AUX input & use it to stream without having the thing seen at all.

This is obviously not a comparable solution at all in terms of price, but I've installed a couple of MoBridge Bluetooth modules in my previous 220's. They take the place of the CD changer in the system (although they install behind COMAND in the dash) and they give you great sounding streaming BT audio, and telephone (if you don't already have it), and full control via COMAND and the steering wheel. You also get a dedicated IPod connection (that charges) and an Aux In. They run around $700 but they're probably the most elegant, integrated solution for a 220. (Neither of my 220's--04 430 and 06 500-- even had an aux-in, so I had no choice.)

Thanks Mike for the help. I see you added a pic of your S550 to your signature. Its stunning man. Not sure what I am doing right now as regards to the w220 it may become strictly a work car and I may upgrade and get a 2010 s550 that I will use to travel far distances.
