COMAND automatically changes time due to Daylight Savings Time.
Instrumentation lights up when opening door and stays on for about 30 seconds after car is turned off and locked.
Car automatically lowers about an inch after reaching around 55MPH.
I'm sure there are plenty more, but can't think of any right now.

Halogen lights from the headlights turn on when unlocking the car or opening the door to illuminate a path.
When getting out of the car, the car lowers itself (you see it drop and the hissing).
When opening the door, the car automatically raises itself.
that's all i can think of at the moment, but pretty sure there's a bunch more.
EDIT: Pen and business card holder spot in the glove compartment door!

Car automatically lowers approx half inch at highway speeds (approx 65mph or more)
Even with headlights off, the interior lights will come on if the interior sensors notice it's too dark (such as if your going thru a tunnel few seconds).
TeleAid will automatically signal Mercedes if airbags deploy & can also track the car by satellite.
COMMAND system will change light color from the yellow color to dark even with headlights off if interior becomes dark (similar to interior lights feature above). One of those perks you get in an S-class.

2004 S 600
With a S600 RennTech you can sit at a light with your wife next to you and child in a carseat in back.......and smoke just about any exotic car in the world without even trying. Not that I would ever do that with anyone in the car....but you get the point (a functional supercar).
I have always liked the fibre optic lighting througout cabin at night that let you see all around interior without affecting night vision.

How about if you aim the key at the door sensors and hold down the unlock button. It will lower all 4 windows, open the sun roof and start the cooling to your seat if it has the a/c option.
Hold down the lock button and it will close them all.
If the climate is cold and you will be out of the car for a short period of time you can press the "REST" button after shutting off the car and it will continue to feed heat from the engine into the passenger compartment so that it does not get cold.

Press and hold the "REST" button for 15-20 Seconds and your climate control screen will reconfigure to show a number of computer metrics.
Use the temp paddle to scroll thrue them. There must be 20-30 data points that can be moitored in real time. Intake manifold pressure/tempreture, exact RPM, exact oil pressure/tempreture, coolent pressure/tempreture, bus voltage etc... etc....
Press "REST" again to retuen to normal.
It will also work on an E going back at least as far as 98.

cool stuph
The steering wheel raises automatically when you take the key out of the ignition so your legs, especially mine since there long, don't hit the steering wheel when getting in or out.

S600 post 02
I see the guy around the office with a dope post '02 S600 AMG, every time I see it parked the mirrors are folded in, is this a feature on those?

I heard that on later models you can program to fold mirrors automatically when you lock the car.
The question is - can you do it on MY01 S500?
May be there any software update required or something?

too many to list
And...
You look cool driving one!!
1. You can see just how well you shaved by sliding the mirror over to close-up.
2. The cabin light feels very natural.
3. You dont have to remember where you put your garage door opener.
4. If the last people to sit in your backseat left the headrests up and its bothering you, you can put them all down with the touch of a button.
5. The car automatically locks at 10mph.
6. Roadside assistance for the LIFE of the car.
Thats all for now.
