hi guys.... i have a 01 s500 with xenons and it's not autoleveling...
the riverside/ca, walter's , have been working on it for two days now with their top Electronics guy and he still haven't found the cause.... now he's pissed and taking it on as a personal challenge....
have any of you guys had problems with the xenon autoleveling?
i did have the lights programmed to be ON all the time when engine ON 'cause i wanted a DRL effect.... but i noticed a few months ago, now that i recollect, that it stopped doing the autoleveing dance on start up/light ON....
comments appreciated....

got the answer
well, there is a potential problem with 00-01 w220s....
there's no gasket on the actuator wiring harness...
here's what i got from my contact:
"On the other hand, I did check with our contact with MBSD Service this afternoon, and the tech advised that he has serviced two 2000-2001 W220 S-Class cars with connector problems in the actuators for the leveling systems. Nothing major but the solution is to simply unplug and replug the connector back to the actuator assembly to re-establish contact. It's normally the rear unit that has this problem since the connector that the factory used was not sealed (no gaskets). Corrosion occurs and loses electrical contact, causing the actuator signal to be lost... consequentially making the system inoperable."
if you have autoleveing problem, it's likely a simple fix !
