How about using a hole saw to punch a hole in the area of the cable and acess the cable from the hole. Then get a plastic trim plug the size of the hole to plug the hole. Something like this :

The cable wasn't attached. But prying just the srs labeled part of the panel and cutting the fiberboard or whatever gave me enough access to use a coathanger to lasso the lever.
Then glue it back. I actual cut the srs down the seam first, but it didn't give me enough access so I yanked it off the used card board to glue the leather back. One can't tell unless you look hard enough to notice there's no stitching and I figured the cardboard and super glue won't Hender the airbag function

One more question, I need to find or run a power line to the back armrest for a power inverter.
Where is a good line to split into?
Should I run a dedicated PowerLine from the batery?
How do I do either? Wiring is the one thing I don't understand. I would like to add an extra battery connected in the trunk bc I run a lot of electronics for work out of my car and I actually melted a car lighter one so bad it started smoking !
Ideally I'd like to add another battery in line with the orginal in place and a dedicated power wire for the big power inverter and a 8 port usb charger.

On the subject of adding another battery to run a power inverter you might want to have a professional do the installation since you "don't understand wiring". If you screw things up you could really create a multitude of electrical problems and potentially fry some of your electronics.
In post number 29 you mentioned a door panel with a "sunshade". Do you have sunshades in your rear door panels?

Rear door unable to open
Did you ever get resolved? I spent hours trying to replace the LR door actuator (ebay $48) {also sunk $65 into the useless "repair kit"} and had to leave as is because I needed the car for work. I mistakenly thought I could open the closed door from the inside after I replaced the panel. You can't. If the lock (from the exterior door handle) is not connected, the door is not going to open. No exception. I was sooo close yet so far away. It was impossible for me to link the door handle mechanism to the plastic clip on the actuator. No room at all to maneuver, blindly, my fingers. Absolutely the most frustrating job I've done on this 16 y/o car. So, any input appreciated and I'll send $50 to your favorite charity for each of the 2 solutions I need (and w/o slicing my door). 1. Can I just remove the wood trim and small plastic piece by the handle from the inside and pull the handle cable that goes to the actuator? And 2) if that works, what's the technique for attaching the door handle link to the actuator?
