Installing Sirius Radio w220
**** Update **** See post #23 for PDF Download for install instructions **********
I am going to respond a bit more broad for future readers...
First, if you have the antenna on the trunk and you have ESIN number shown under the sat button on command, you can set up a subscription for the service.
The "pre wire" in the car is that wire harness are wired between component areas so the factory can add jumpers and modules to install more easy without hacking wire harness. I have read that earlier model years may have simple fiber loops added to the end of connectors so they could be removed for simple install. Later years, the fiber just had a link connector in the MOST Fiber Ring just before the components in the trunk. You may need MOST Fiber connector end and jumper to add to the fiber loop to connect in the module.
MOST Cable
You can find the MOST cable on ebay.
Usually, you will find the connector and a blue and white antenna FARKA connectors in the left side wheel well in the trunk. The other end of the antenna harness is wired into the trunk lid under the liner. It is bundled on the right side of the lid edge.
Why the 2 wire Antenna? Because in the early Sirius broadcast system, they used sat and local repeater broadcast of the signal in some cities. The Factory units are attached to the trunk lid by drilling a large hole, the antenna wires pass through the hole and a plastic end cap locks it onto the lid. The Antenna wires lock in with FARKA connectors.
Another option for the Antenna- All Sirius antenna work on the same Freq. range, so any Sirius Antenna can be adapted to be used. Single wire trunk antennas can be mounted and then a Antenna Dual to Single Adapter will plug into the Sirius receiver. The Farka connectors will be the wrong color, so the outside connector lock rings will be removed and the inside plugs will be inserted. Friction will hold the plugs in. This method, you only need to run down one wire from the trunk lid. Another option on this is that you can use a simple Sirius magnetic antenna and adapt into the Antenna harness. The Sirius Antenna uses a SMB connector. So, a SMB to FARKA plug adapter will tie into the trunk lid wire, then use a Dual/ Single adapter into the receiver.
Adapter parts .. http://www.tss-radio.com/installatio...cessories.html
The last thing that is needed is securing the receiver module. Finding the bracket or converting another bracket from another Mercedes is an option. I did a temporary mount by using zip ties during trouble shooting.
Some years are more wired than others for factory sat radio.
If your system says that it is not connected, then you will need the whole sat system. This is the receive module, Trunk mounted antenna and MOST fiber optic jumpers. Some years had the jumpers, but had a bypass loop installed to keep the "Fiber optic ring" intact. MB dose not stock new kits anymore. You will need to find the parts used or New old Stock.
I did do my own install on my 06' s500. It is so nice having the factory system integration.
The factory Sirius module (box) is the 2208201797 unit. It was used also in E class and others from that time. You can get the used parts for around $300-$400. New, the system was $1200+ for parts plus labor to install.

The factory Sirius module (box) is the 220820179. I was used in many models around that time. It was also used in the Maybach also. The one I am using now was originally out of an e class.

Search "Mercedes sirius" on eBay.. check the tags on the units in pictures numbers.. The quick eye scan trick is that it starts with A 220 and ends 97 on the center tag. These also have 3 tags on the top.

Today I did an inspection to see what I have with regards to pre-wiring in my 2004 S430 and here's what I found...
The first photo from left to right:
Bottom left: Antenna connectors, one blue, one white.
Bottom right: do not know what these are for.
Top right: Connector plugs into Sirius receiver provides power and fiber optic. Power is wired to connector but the fiber optic cables are included.
The second photo from top to bottom:
Top left: MOST connector into CD changer.
Bottom right: MOST connector into Navigation unit.
I did notice one of the fiber optic lines, not pictured, had a black connector, is that some kind of junction that I disconnect and then plug each end into the connector that plugs into the Sirius receiver from the first photo putting receiver into the MOST loop?

Ok so I just got into this today, I have a 2004 s430 that is pre-wired...for the most part. I got a new e class Sirius box with the single antenna lead, and a single lead modern Sirius antenna. In the trunk I had the antenna leads, and the Sirius plug. It had three wires coming out of it and the only thing missing was the fiber wires (orange or copper colored) so we took the fiber plug from the CD changer and ran it to the factory Sirius plug. Now here's my question I want my CD changer back at some point...so where can I get a fiber splitter/jumper? I need to split the original fiber into two so I can plug one into the changer and one into the Sirius.

Here's a PDF for the install instructions for the 211 model year 2004, I couldn't find a similar bulletin for the 220 model year 2004.
Here's the component order in the MOST ring:
1. Voice Control System
2. Navigation Processor
3. CD Changer
4. Communication Platform
5. Command
6. Satellite Radio
7. Sound System
There is a black coupling block (connects two most lines together) that allows you to "insert" the receiver into the "ring" resulting in you having two black coupling blocks one on each side of the receiver MOST connections. There may be one or more of these black coupling blocks, but if there's only one, that's where the receiver needs to be inserted.

I had one of the blocks sitting on the side of the trunk, but how do I tap into it? Could I use the something like this to split the fiber coming out of the CD changer?
http://m.ebay.com/itm/MOST-fiber-optic-jumper-cable-multimedia-connectors-for-Audi-BMW-Benz-Porsche-/161631749964
I would plug that into the female then one male into the cd changer and one into the Sirius.
I'm sorry if I'm lost I don't understand the fiber MOST ring stuff lol. I have the basics but I can't figure out what I need to split another lead off to my CD changer or Sirius

This is getting to the point where I'm going to give up, this gets more confusing after every post. I have 2 questions:
1. Where do the two wires connect to from the antenna?
2. Not sure if I'm reading correctly, but in order to have SAT, I'll have to give up the CD changer?
I have 2 wires that are together, (blue) and (white) that I believe connect to the Sirius module and I have the one connector that also connects to the Sirius module, but that's it, I don't have any other connectors, so where does the antenna connect to?

This is a fiber optic continuous ring, so you tap into the ring by opening up the black connector. The cable that terminated in one part of the connector goes into your receiver connector and the cable from your receiver connector goes replaces it in the black connector.
It looks pretty straight forward to do, you just need the correct parts.

The other connector that hooks the the module has the power wires and holds the fiber connector inside it.
This is fiber connector end. These ends will clip into other harnesses. On this connector, there is a in/out arrow on the connector. The light flows into the module then out to the next.
This MOST fiber jumper you need. It has the single fiber connector (small black box) and the double connector end. You will remove the inside connector above for the outside connector and insert it into the power connector (to the sirius module). These click in, so to remove it there is a plastic tab that holds them in. You lift the tab and slide it out.
IN the car, There is a small single connector (Box) that is on the fiber coming from the main cabin of the car. This is the place you add the link. You separate the inner and outer parts and clip or unclip the fiber from the connector. You will take the fiber from the cabin into the Sirius module, then out to the Amp module.
Here is an eBay link for that cable. Sorry if this thread gets old and that link dies.

The other suggestion I have is to hook up the module and the antenna an make sure they are all working before you mount the factory antenna (Drill the hole). The Sirius module will let you know if it dose not have antenna connected. If your module is working, then you should see the ESID number and the phone number to call for activation. I think you also get a preview channel audio under the SAT button on the Command head unit.
The rule from the Audio/Video world is "Make it work, then make it pretty"

A 211 540 31 32 - This is the part number for the single optical cable plus connector that I mentioned earlier.
A 000 545 44 84 - This is the part number for the small black rectangular coupler, which you probably will not need since there's one already there that you need to tap into.

Fiber loop (Cabin side) / Single coupler /fiber extension /fiber double end / in to Sirius module /Fiber double end out / fiber extension/2nd coupler back into fiber loop.

With the A 211 540 31 32 cable you should be able to do what's shown in the attached photo, no?

2005 S430
For Sirus I used the following in my Sclass (Cartronics and Sirus XM). Since I already had the CarTroinics for Bluetooth phone and Ipod integration. I purchased the Sirus XM Model XDNX1 and plugged it in the aux jack in the Cartronics unit. I mounted the Sirus inside the arm rest for security and storage. It also came with a remote. I have both for sale since my S430 is totaled.
