COMAND 2.5 USA Software Update?
Hi everyone,
I've just got myself a brand new 2000 CL500 and I'm in the process of getting everything together for it. I've identified it has D type navigation. I have a DX type CD from my old 2002 S430, but it currently doesn't work in my system. Being that navigation CDs are pretty expensive, I'd like to get it working with the CD I have. Now I've read about the MY01 update that can be done for these radios, but I've only managed to find CDs to do the update for European COMANDs. Does anyone know where I can obtain the update CD for a USDM COMAND 2.5? I've called my local dealers and none of them have had a clue what I was talking about, all saying that STAR is needed to update the unit. I will most likely be getting a STAR unit in the near future as well so if there's a way to do the update with a STAR then I could do that too.
