Cheap Cheap Cheap S600!!!!
Ok here it is guys, while doing my daily W220 Check on ebay, I came accross this S600 with 5k miles on it, and its an 02!! So I look at the buy it now price, holy crap its only 32k!!!! Im like wtf this has gotta be fake. I emailed the guy, and he said he needs the money for his business, then I asked why its a U.S. car if he lives in The U.K. He says he has to residences. Im like ok, then I was like why is it at the dealer with starmark and all on it if your selling it, and he says because he needs to sell it. I was like well duh thats obviously why you put it on ebay. So the dealer wants 7X,XXX for it and he wants 32,000 for it. What an idiot. So I did a search on the Starmark thing at MBUSA and found the car, its at some dealer in florida, he used the exact same pics that they did lol. Maybe he is telling the truth, but why on earth would he sell it for so cheap. Its really fishey. If I was going to buy it I would meet him and see the car in person plus talk to the dealer, cuz this guy is an idiot. Check it out guys: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6336 I notified the dealer because I was afraid there may be some kind of scam or illegal activity happening and didnt want them to get involved in some kind of fraud of some sort. I only emailed them so I might just give em a call tomorrow.

It is the real thing alright!! I just check the VIN in Netstar and the car was originally sold on Nov. 24, 2001 and it has no unusual history other than some normal warranty work. There are no jumps in mileage or anything of that nature! It looks pretty clean to me, but for only $32k!! that seems very low, he must really be hurting for the cash

If it was legit, he would put it on ebay at $1 no reserve and let it end on its own. If he's smart enough to be able to afford an S600 in the first place, a $100,000+ car, I doubt he'd sell it for $32k. BUYER BEWARE!

I see what you are saying and just so you guys know, it was aquired by the dealership, so they are the legal owners. I am not sure of any agreement he & the dealership my have worked out, but still seems like something fishy is going on there!!!

...........where is the car physically located now? I was tempted to take at at the buy-it now price and require that I physically see the car before sending payement. If the car is not as described then I won't pay.

Who's to say that this guy has ANY affiliation with the dealership?? There could be an inside guy at the dealer giving him info, or he has access to it, then when you buy it and wire the money, he disappears. You contact the dealership and they didn't know a thing about the auction. You are screwed.

.......mystery over. This is what it says now
The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing
.........I believe this was a scam. someone already spoke to the lister and he confirmed the price, claiming that he just needed the money. Now after being discovered, he closes the auction claiming there was an error. If there was an error, then fix the error and re-list the car at the same price he claimed was valid.

How scam can work? You can just use pay at delivery method. It doesn't look like the car was stolen. The seller has very positive feedback. It's pity I didn't check the forum to often, otherwise I'd buy the car.
