Shifting issue
I need help. I can't find a definite answer. 2000 S500. When I start the car, the current gear (PRND) does not show in the dash. Where the current gear should be is blank. Only the clock is there. When I put it in D, naturally, it wont go back into park unless I turn the car off. Seems as if theres a disconnect between the shifer and the computer. In addition, when shes in gear and being driven, shes stuck in what I believe is either 1st or 2nd gear. What could be the problem? I've read the connector on the valve body or the gear shifter itself. Where should I start? I haven't ripped anything apaet yet as I am still researching the problem. I need to fix this so I can sell this car. Thanx in advance.

I saw that post. It wasn't helpful in this case. I'll go over it again. I was pretty pissed when I read it the first time.
