How many miles on your S600 (M275 motor)? Hope that $20,000 spent by previous owner gives you a reliable car. My M285 motor has 60K miles, and so far, so good. Didn't have any large repair bills in its history, and the Service B was done just before I bought it, including the brake fluid service, transmission service and engine/cabin air filters. Total bill to him was $1,500 for this.

It's 108k now. I'm trying to keep track of what need to be changed and here is the list replaced parts

I think I will need to get my hands dirty, doing the works myself to afford these parts. Just ordered these: gas filter, carbon filters, cabin filters, oil filter, engine air filters. Walmart has the best price on Mobil 1 0W-40 so I won't bother with ordering the oil.
After those filters, I will be attacking the following problem list: (not in any order)
1. Oily dirty engine needs a wash.
2. Power lift trunk won't open. Parts ordered.
3. AC blows hot air for rear passenger area.
4. Soft close doesn't work for front passenger door.
5. Check engine light on.
6. Intermittent SRS errors.
7. Too much wears on the fabric of driver side pillar.
8. Broken rear driver curtain guide.
9. Homelink programming. Can get my S430 to work but this darn thing is stubborn and I can't get off the slow pulse when trying to program the buttons.
I would appreciate any pointers for problem 3, 4, 9. Thanks in advance.

"Washing" the engine is not a good plan. Cleaning with brake/parts cleaner is better, but also has some risk (more to you than to the car, though). Water and MB electrics/electronics don't play well together...

Thank you for the warning. I will be careful. I need the engine to be clean so I can spot problems easily and I don't trust the car wash place for the engine area.
I washed the S430 last week and had no issues so I have some level of confidence. I used the engine cleaner and power washer to blast all the dirt away. Will take some pics this time.

I didn't disconnected the battery last time on the S430. You guys scared me a little so I think I will turn off the juice this time. The idea is to let it dry before turning it on.

Hopefully this info on SRS will help someone.
Flickering SRS error on S600 was resolved with belt buckles cleaning. I blowed CRC electronic cleaner to both driver and passenger sides. Didn't have to clear the SRS error.
So I had the dreadful SRS errors for months on S430. At the last service B, I asked my dealer to look into. The diagnostic came back with a bad belt buckle. No part on-site so it had to be ordered. I offered to leave the car overnight but my SA can't promise when the part will get in.
Part arrived 10days later but I wasn't able to bring it in as it sat for head gasket replacements and then the S600 pickup. Anyway, my OBDII arrived yesterday and it shows errors with high capacitance readings on the driver side. I cleared it. It went away and haven't come back yet. Should it comes back immediately for open circuit code 9183?
Perhaps the problem on S430 was the same as the problem on S600 but the error needs to be cleared?

the rear AC blowing hot is most likely caused by a bad duo-valve, which is forward of the right front wheel in the housing (the WIS is wrong).
Just turn the rear control to OFF for now.
It can be repaired.

I tried to slide the sunroof back and it would stop after a few inches. It took 10 pushes to get it opens all the way. Closing was no problem. I just hope that it needs clean, lube and nothing else.

Sunroof lube: Applied Mobil 1 synthetic grease and it acted the same. Still took 10 pushes to open all the way. Applied some more and it made no differences. I was about to give up but decided to give it more greases. After the third try, it opens all the way with 1 touch.
The V12 doesn't look similar to the V8. There are plenty of videos and pics on the V8 but very little on the V12. It look overwhelm and I think this is going to be over my capabilities. This filter is sitting between the engine intake filters. What's it and how often it needs maintenance?

The engine air intakes have K&N re-usable filters. I bought MB filters already but they haven't arrived yet so I don't know what they look like. Does anyone with experience on K&N filters? Sounds like they provides better performance but do they worth the trouble with the cleaning processes?

I used to, but I never really noticed any difference in performance or economy. Throw in that if you over oil them, they can cause problems with the MAF in some cars and I say not worth the trouble. That said, if you already have them, it's probably cheaper just to clean them as opposed to buying new OEM ones, just don't go crazy with the oil. It's not difficult.
