Satellite radio in 2004 s class

Does anyone know if the new s class has satellite radio available. There is a sat button on the command screen but the dealer says it is unavailable now

Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland
I imagine they will get it some time around the time of the launch of the next-gen s class

The latest I've heard says the Sat option will be available by next month. It's a dealer installable option that all 2004 models are pre-wired for. The cost hasn't been confirmed but has been guesstimated at a few hundred dollars. I'm on the list at my local dealership to have it installed and will post whenever I get the word that it's ready.

My dealer says that the parts are now showing on their computer, so availability should be soon.

The sat option is for Sirus only, around 800 bucks, and connected via fiber optics of the car. 04 models are pre wired and a new antenna will be mounted on the rear trunk lid. It's black but I don't know if this can be painted. I have XM in my car and painted my antenna and works fine.

As of 3/16/04, all the kits are available but:
"Effective immediately, MBUSA will supply limited (critical-need) quantities of MY '04 SIRIUS installation kits on an emergency only basis to dealerships in need of satisfying specific pressing demands. Current quantities are extremely limited on S, E, and CL models."

The MSRP is $679 plus installation. This price includes 14 months of service.

All models are prewired EXCEPT C-Coupe and '04 SLK.
M class manufactured prior to 11/10/03 are NOT satellite-radio ready.
Presence of a "SAT" button on the COMAND or MCS head-unit indicates that a vehicle is satellite radio ready.
