TPMS for S350

I have a W220 2006 S350 non-4matic. The TPMS hasn't worked in forever, and I assume it is because the TPMS sensors in the four wheels have all died. I don't see them available at Tire Rack. Can someone recommend a place to buy them? Also, what frequency should I get? It looks like there are two. One in the 300s and one in the 400s. Or does it matter? Finally, my repairman said to just skip them because they die very quickly anyway. What do you all think? Skip them or get them?

Thanks!

I think TPMS is an excellent system to have, and helps point out problems with your tires before you notice them. This helps keep you from unknowingly being in an unsafe situation and can prevent avoidable damage. The batteries in these sensors seem to last an average of 6 years, give or take. I wouldn't call that dying very quick. My Dodge has all the original sensors, and it's 7 1/2 years old.

It's also worth mentioning, for my car, after repairing a flat, the sensors went out. It turned out I had to set all the tire pressures close to each other. After setting the pressure to factory specs, the sensors quickly began displaying all the tire pressures again. I think that even if one goes out, they all quit displaying. It's best to replace them all at once anyway. Once one goes out, I'm sure the others wouldn't be far behind.

You can find them on Amazon

Thanks for the replies. I looked around the forums and eventually found that for US cars, the OEM is Beru 315 MHz, not 433. It seemed people has issues with Titan, so I was looking for Beru. It also seems that not only would I need to buy the sensor at close to $100 each ($400 total), but also some kind of special metal valve stem.

I think I will take the repairman's advice and forego these. At these prices, the TPMS will be about the same price as the tires themselves.

I had rims separated from tires to refinish them, and found that the sensors separated from the stems easily. The sensor is held on by one star bit screw. There is no reason to change the stems unless there is a problem with them.

TPMS fits Mercedes Benz S Class Tire Pressure Sensors

All totaled is 167 for the sensors which included new stems, +92 for all 4 to be mounted and tires rebalanced at Discount Tire = $259 for all 4 replaced and running again.

Granted , this was 2-3 years ago and prices may have changed by now. Still worth a look.

I purchase 2 sets for my s500 and s55 amg from this web site and paid $142.00/per set. All work really well. But it was orange color made in Thiland, not Beru brand. I don't see that product anymore.. Maybe sold out..
