towing a w220

hey all,
on my way home from school on the pike, I saw a flatbed with two cars, one on the flatbed itself and other on on the tow hook. The car on the flatbed was a Nissan Pathfinder. And to my surprise, the car in tow was a w220 S-Class

how does airmatic handle that when the car is off and it's being towed like that? I usually see MB's towed on flatbeds, but i've seen a few older models on tow hooks (my w202 included). Does that damage the suspension system at all or anything?

Towing a car with AT kills the AT very fast. Unless you have an external AT fluid pump (optional equipment, usually sold at RV places) that keeps the AT fluid circulating through the AT. Then you can tow it as much as you want. Without it you're OK for maybe 30-50 miles at lowere speeds (up to 50 MPH)
