Cannot locate fuses for instrument cluster 2002 - S500
Hi guys,
I am trying to locate the fuses for my instrument cluster on 2002 S500.
The mechanics manual i have says it is fuses : F79,F84,F85 which are located supposedly in the Cockpit fuse box, which should be on either side of the dash on the ends.
My S500 does not have a fuse box on either end.
I just have a left and right side under the hood and then one under the rear seat on the passenger side.
And of course, the hidden main fuse under the foot area of the front passenger side.
But no fuses F79,F84,F85 anywhere that I can find.
anyone have any ideas ?
thanks very much,
Kevin Rea

The fuses are inside of that closure on the passenger side door. You will need to take a pocket screw drive and pry that cover off.

Take a look at the picture Dr. Doe posted. Your cluster fuses are inside of that box. There is also the possibility that your instrument cluster is dead. There was a recall several years ago on the instrument cluster dying. Do a search for instrument clusters on this forum. Also, if you are in the USA you can go to the NTSB website and do a search on Mercedes recalls.

Can't make it any clearer than this. Here is where your instrument cluster, lighter, and other fuses are located.

Actually that’s not in all models I’ve got a 2002 s500 and mine does not have that

The dash panel fuse location did not appear until the "facelift" in 2003. All W220 fuse charts should be shown here: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/fu.../#post-8947849
You need the 2000 - 2002 chart.
