Potential ABC leak?
Was looking under the car this morning and noticed a damp looking spot right in front of the passenger side rear wheel well. I believe there's an ABC accumulator or pressure reservoir underneath the plastic undertray at that spot. I haven't had time to inspect, but is there anything else in that vicinity that could be leaking/weeping oil? Just to clarify, the damp spot is on the plastic undertray right in front of the passenger rear wheel. I don't see any fluid on the ground.
I also checked the ABC suspension reservoir, and I cannot remember if the fluid fill level was at the top hash with the engine off before, but today it is between the top mark and lower mark. I will add CHF11s fluid later this week and see if the level drops again.
BTW, the car is not drooping even after sitting a week. I doubt I have a strut leak but I figured it's worth mentioning.

LOL... I plan on doing that, as soon as winter decides to quit ruining my plans. I'm in Manhattan and so is the car. My house with all my tools is in PA. I have summer tires.
Anyway, can you at least tell me what's located under that panel right in front of the passenger rear wheel arch? Is it just the pressure reservoir?
Where is the rear valve block located? Driver or passenger side? Ta!
Edit: my MB factory service manuals are at my summer house in PA, so I don't have access to the technical library at the moment. Searching for W220 ABC rear valve block location provides this diagram. Not sure if it applies to our W220 S-Class vehicles.
Looks like the rear valve block is somewhere near passenger side left rear quadrant of the vehicle. Is that correct?

MBWorld Fanatic!
The only ABC components in front of the right hand rear wheel are the metal and flexible pipes that connect the valve block to the right rear strut, plus the bleed port.
The rear valve block is in front of the left hand rear wheel, and the rear pressure reservoir is BEHIND the right rear wheel.

Good news... maybe. Doesn't seem to be an ABC leak after all. Checked the reservoir after the car's been sitting all day and it's full. Fluid comes right up to the engine off mark.
I'll know more once I get the car on stands and I can remove the plastic chassis trays that run the length of the vehicle. I know that my transmission is leaking from the pilot bushing, which I'll replace in a few days. Hopefully I don't have a pinhole leak in the ABC high pressure line, but I'll know soon enough!
Nick, thanks for clarifying the ABC components in the rear. That certainly helps.
