Unhappy V12 S600 odd ball question

A small sticker on the side of S600 oil cap, about an inch in length fell inside the motor. Not sure if it’s paper or scotch tape substance, in any event, could it do damage to the motor oil pump? (Ran the the car in place until very hot with no issues)

..........taking a wild guess: the small sticker fell from the oil cap into the oil filler port..........

What do I win?

The V12 coupe I rode shotgun in last year was very planted as it surged onto E/B I-80 just west of Reno. I sincerely hope there is no damage to that awesome power plant.............

best, ez

Well, if it fell into the oil filler port and if it's paper, it should hopefully dissolve with no ill effects. If it's not completely made of dissolvable paper but has some sort of laminate on it or composed of something that doesn't allow it to dissolve, then it could get chewed up by the cams, or worse, get stuck in one of the small oil channels running throughout the head.

According to a master Mercedes mechanic retired from a dealer in NYC, no need to worry, most likely it went down to the oil case and the pump filter would never suck it through. He said not even the tip of a toothpick would go through that filter, and next oil change I will find it there. Feeling a bit better now.

Hopefully so, but if it were mine I'd say the oil just came due for a change..
