alarm issue

the siren is not making noise and for some reason the front fog and rear night lamps are flashing and the interior lights are going on and off, i tried pressing the Panic button on the key to stop it but it wont stop, i dont want the battery to drain but what do i do?
there is a small battery inside the car alarm brain box and that has likely failed due to age . The alarm brain box will need to be replaced with a new one (from the dealer -not a used part as it will also have an old battery )

I already told you it's the siren alarm brain , there's a small lithium battery inside that finally dies. The battery can't be replaced . You need a new siren brain box from the dealer

The alarm siren is located behind the drivers front fender at the rear of the tire. You have to remove the front wheel and the inner wheel well plastic liner and you will see the unit. If I recall correctly you will also require a torx security bit to remove the siren.
The new part number is 219 820 32 26. One nice feature of the new siren is that you now get the audible beeps when locking/unlocking.

It takes 20 minutes to replace the siren & the beeps when arming & disarming are great to have. I frequently have had to look back a couple of blocks to see if my mirrors are folded because I couldn't remember if I'd locked up.
Before you get started, go to your local auto parts store & pick up a m8 1.25 nut to attach the replacement siren. According to everywhere on the internet, all replacements secure to the housing with a bolt, as opposed to the screw that goes into the original siren, but none of the replacements come with the nut. It would suck to get everything broken down before you realize you don't have a nut to get things back together.
You'll need 6mm, 8mm & 10mm sockets. The original siren is secured with a crazy torx screw with a post in the middle. My torx bits wouldn't work but it was easy to twist the old siren, instead of the screw, in order to remove it from the housing. The nuts holding down the housing take a 6mm socket but they have an extension that hit the lug on my ratchet. I just put the socket on first then attached the ratchet as much as I could to unscrew them. It's a really easy job.
