i need spoonfeed please im so confused 2004 S430 Aux Question
hi
I know in my trunk left side theres 2 boxes, a navi and imy first benz, bear with me im so confused on google with this
i have a 2004 S430 it has navigation i believe
they say 03 had aux in the glove box to the right
i checked mine, it has a black small block off plate, im going to remove it and check if theres an aux plugin there IF it doesnt have one
I know enough about wiring
i know how to install subs/speakers/amps in a honda civic pre2000 so im sure i can install a aux in this benz
how would i go about to installing an aux cable
i dont want no fm converter no cassette converter
believe a cd changer box
i want the factory look, but i want an aux cable so i can bump some music instead of getting cd's
i just bought this car today 2004 S430 173k miles for $3100 im feeling like i scored a fair/good deal but who knows im in WA btw. if that affects prices
E:
i was wanting to add aftermarker Sub + amp(to amp my sub Only)
i know how to install subs/amps/speakers to a 1992-2000 honda civic so im pretty sure i can do a aftermarket sub/amp install
ive NEVER touched a high low converter but im sure google can tell me how
how do i keep my factory amp to continue powering my speakers AND TURN OFF FACTORY SUB meanwhile aftermarket amp to power SUB only
im gonna google some more and edit with more questions
read something about a inline converter? will this do what i want? because i see that it taps into speaker L and speaker R
will my stock Sub turn off? once i do a LOC converter?

Your car, your choice - but I suggest that you spend some time playing with the system that you have before ripping the sub out. You should be able to adjust the bass/treble, etc., quite a bit.
I have a 2003, which does have the AUX input. It works, but it isn't that convenient. It take several button pushes to go from AM/FM or CD to the AUX input. That being said, the AUX is integrated with the rest of the sound system, so it mutes for phone calls, etc.
There have been many threads on getting an input for music from phones, etc. on this and other W220 sites. There is a Search function at the top of the page. If you check, there is also an Electronics sub-Forum available in this and other Mercedes sites, where you can find some detailed installations.

If you want aux input on your 2004 without using a fm adapter or tape adapter then you need to buy a module that replaces the cd changer , from Dension or mobridge , they cost $300-600 and you'll lose your cd changer
