DTC 008

EGS module code-Component Y66/1 reversing and parking lock solenoid has short circuit or no connection. DTC Status-resistance to high.

Car has no start, limp mode once started from relay box, no gears showing on dash.

Conductor plate has been replaced
No trans oil has wicked up to EGS
Trans plug had no leaks
EGS and plugs have been cleaned with electric cleaner
Shifter module shows no codes

Research shows that DTC 008 is R/P Lockout Solenoid Y66/1 but I can't find the location for the solenoid. On the older models Y66/1 is located on the shifter and does two different things.

I think it's a solenoid on the valve body, since it's giving a trans code but which solenoid? Any help would be much appreciated!

I believe this was covered weeks ago--your scanner is giving you faulty information--there is no y66/1 solenoid on the conductor plate or shifter!!---call the scanner mfg!

Live Data Stream

Ok went back and did some more digging and did a live data stream. The data stream reads Y3/6s1 starter lockout contact closed. I've replaced the conductor plate, new plug with bushings, and cleaned the EGS. There was no leak beforehand. Tried resetting the code but it won't erase, keeps coming back. Please help!

You likely need a new shifter , but you can't just buy a used one unless you swap all 4 anti theft parts (key shifter ignition switch ecu) from the same donor car . Matched sets of all 4 parts Cost about $350 on eBay and will not need programming

Or you can get a brand new shifter from the dealer which is about $1000 and will need programming.

I was thinking the same thing about the replacement parts. Is there a starter lockout relay? Would a better scanner reset the limp mode and enable the start; Im currently using the icarsoft mbII?

Still no start

I've changed the key, EIS, shifter and ECU and conductor plate; still no start. Same exact symptoms. Checked fuses-all good. Gears are still not showing on dash. What could possibly be wrong? Could this be symptoms of a bad brake light switch? What are some symptoms of a bad brake light switch? Please help!!

What year car is your s430?
Early cars with the 5 speed automatic need no programming but later cars with the seven speed automatic need reprogramming after a conductor plate replacement
