01 s500 back at dealer/shop - throttle control malfuncion
01 s500 wiith 47K...whew....
the electronic throttle control broken... starts and idles fine but no accelerator response for about 3 seconds then slowly power/engine revs up... made it to dealer for drop off.
they are also changing the engine mount....apparently a recall.
they are still having problem diagnosing the a/c fan. ..after car warmed up, when we turn the a/c on, fan indicator shows full fan speed but no fan action for a minute or so... according to the wife.
any problems like this guys?
good thing i have the 7/100K extended warranty...it will come in handy, at the rate we are going....

The throttle actuator on your model is pretty reliable. I'd be more willing to bet the mass-airflow sensor took a dive and is causing the problem. As far as the motor mounts, I am not aware of a recall for those. But hey, you're almost out of warranty so take all the new parts you can get. The blower problem sounds like a bad blower regulator, but it's also possible it's the pushbutton unit itself. There is also a tech bulletin for a modified blower motor wiring harness, that might be the problem, though I don't remember if it applies to '01 model year cars.

s500 repairs
well, the motor mount was leaking and engine was vibrating...it was not a recall.sorry.
the accelerator problem was due to faulty pedal sensor - replaced.
the a/c fan blower regulator was supposed to be fixed but i didn't see it on the paper work... they couldn't reproduce it....
may have to bring it back to 'em - hassle.
the unfortunate price i have to pay for driving a MB.....
my lexus never has had , so far, any of these problems...sc430.
oh well....
thanks for your input guys...
