V12 biturbo... Turbo upgrade

Who has done it? Did you go custom, or get a kit? What did you like? What didn't you like?

And does anyone know what size the factory injectors are?

My turbos are burning oil/smoking, and need a rebuild, so... While we're in there...

I have done some reading and searching and just really have not found anything useful on this topic. Seems like Speedriven is the only kit option.... I don't want a kit. I can put together my own.

Im currently interested in what turbo options there are (if there are any/what other people have used), what injectors you've used, issues you've run into, etc.

Thanks!
Em

So it seems the factory injectors are 480cc? Can anyone confirm this?

Sad to say, but this story might put you off a bit....

Have you had a re-map?

My turbos are burning oil, they need a rebuild. no use tuning on bad turbos. And while we have evening apart and the turbos disassembled we might as well upgrade.

Im just baffled at the lack of any information on upgrading these. There seem to be absolutely no options other then a few shops that offer full kits.

I'd like to just pick my own turbo options. But step 1 is finding out what size the factory injectors are...

One person's bade experience with upgrading their car, just shows me what not to do, and where not to shop.

I'd suggest checking out the R230 (SL55, 63, 65) forum if you haven't already, there is a lot more activity there than here. You may have to look at older threads but here is a link to a more recent one where a conversion to a single rear turbo is underway https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...ork-log-3.html
