V12TT Torque protection?

V12TT Torque protection?
Hey guys
Can anyone explain to me what exactly happens when a tuned V12TT car runs into the torque protection limit?
I ask as I tried some pulls from standstill with the ESP off for the first time since getting it remapped at Eurocharged last year.
It seems boost gets fed in so much quicker with ESP off, and it was epic fun, however I had an issue during two pulls, the trans seemingly shutting down and going into a neutral state very early into the run, and would only come back to life with the ignition cycled.
I know these V12TT cars have an inbuilt torque limit in the ECU/Trans that is supposed to protect the transmission from more than 737 FT-LB - Is this what I'm experiencing?
Other than the eurocharged maps for the ECU and TCU, its just a standard 160,000 mile S600, so I'd be kind of surprised (but happy) if I'm making that much torque already
Never, ever had this issue before, but then I always had the ESP on, which seems to bring boost in more gradually than with it off.
Any thoughts?
Cheers

Cheers for the reply Nick.
Finally plugged my star in the other day and had a look at the codes.
I had a couple relating to implausible speed sensor readings in the transmission, so looks like I'll be fitting a new conductor plate in the very near future...
I'm a tiny bit surprised, as other than the issue with ESP off, I've not had a single issue with the transmission, but I'm glad it is something easily sorted. This seems to be an extremely common problem, even on the 722.9 boxes.
Incidentally, I reset the adaptations with the star and performance seems to have improved, however while on my relearn run with the star plugged in, I noticed my charge temps reached a peak of toasty 65c+ .
Clearly I must be no where near the torque protection limit with temps like that .
Lots left to do with the car, but I'm really glad to have it back on the road.

I am not aware of any hard coded torque limiter on the W220 V12. The tuners, Eurocharged etc, are able to bypass the soft limiters. My 2006 S65 tune certainly did. The W222 V12 7speeds have a torque limiter that is not overridden by the normal aftermarket tunes. The limit is 738 ft-lbs (1,000 N-M.)

check your trans fluid level, happened to me when i got my 220 back from a shop. mid pull it went right into neutral, fluid was half full. did a trans service and it never happened again
