Just wanted to say hi as I just acquired 2006 W220 S430 this week. My parents decided to upgrade to W221 and sold it to me for a great price, I couldn't pass it up. Funny how life works, here I was a year ago trying to talk them out of this purchase for something more common and reliable.
The car is in mint condition. Before they bought it we were able to acquire all of the service records from the dealer. Car was meticulously maintained.
It's a 2006 S430 with AMG Package and 100k Miles. So far I haven't found anything wrong with it when it comes to electronics/mechanical. I spent about 8 hours detailing it this weekend (wash/wax, interior and engine). The bumper has 2 cracks, wheels have few scratches, but not too bad. Other than that, the only other issue I see/hear is the brake pedal. I managed to get the cover off and spray some lithium grease in there but I couldn't see good and that didn't work. Passenger side door corner has a tiny rust spot, so might have to address that before it gets worse. I also need new rear tires.
When they first got it, I changed the Oil, Transmission fluid and spark plugs (which I thought was extremely easy). Thinking about doing the trans axle fluid. The car is amazing, drives like you are on a cloud. This used to be one of my dream cars as a teen, love the interior. Probably my favorite interior of all time, certainly my favorite S Class generation.
I play on driving it on daily basis about 15 miles a day.
Very nice. Same color as my S500 interior and exterior. Just keep that cowl vent clean of debris especially if you park under trees. Good luck with your new ride.
