S-Class Brake Dust, Brake Pads...
The brake dust from original MB brake pads is quite obvious on S-Class
A couple of questions:
Anyone tried to use other than original MB brake pads (*without modding calipers etc.)?
If yes, any positive results on brakepads life / stopping performance / lower brake dust on wheels?
I just saw in one online store Kleen Wheels - brake dust shields.
Has anyone tried one of these Kleen Wheels protectors?
Here is a link where I saw them.

that protector will make your wheels look so stupid beleive me, where you normally see the brake rotors there will be a black thing so you wont see in, its really dumb.

Yeah, I thought about that as well...
But on another hand, if you drive more than 75 mi a day, you need to clean your wheels 2-3 times a week at least, otherwise they look dirty
Any thoughts about non-MB brake pads?

As I heard, all New breakpads are more environmentally friendly. SOrry dont know proper component name in english, but anyway, before it wouldnt get as black as it used a "bad" material.
so I dont know whether getting another brand will solve the prob IAF.

MBs are notorious for brake dust.
But the stopping power is what you wanna care about :p which MB does a pretty good job, hence the dust on the wheels.
I do not know of any good aftermarket pads that will keep brake dust down...maybe upgraded brembo's?

I had always heard that the dust covers were not good for the brakes as they would interfere with the cooling aerodynamics of the car. However, I had used the Kleen Wheels a long while back (not on my benz) and they worked ok; still got some brake dust because of the louvers on the cover.
I would punt on them, they kinda look nutty anyway. Buy a power washer, works great....
As far as the brake pads, I always use the OEM stuff the dealer puts on. Less grief that way.
