Cool NO tcc

Hello- 2000 s430, about 128k miles...torque converter stopped locking up, no DTC's present, TCM has no fluid contamination, I do have a new connector, plate, filter, and refurb solenoids to install...if that does not work any ideas? Will install new parts next week...... very odd issue.

Was the fluid ever changed? I'd start there, since that's the cheapest option which has at least some likelihood of fixing things. The TC was messed up in my E350 (7G Tronic Plus, so different transmission, but same idea) until I changed fluid and filter and has been perfect ever since.

Serviced the trans at 110k. Have just replaced the conductor plate and solenoids, new connector and filter. There was some discoloration of the fluid and a brassy sheen,,,,and still no TCC, No fluid wicking, and no transmission or engine DTC's. Does shift a bit better,,,without lockup,

Can a transmission from a 2000 s500 be installed WITH the TCM that matches it? I can get a smoking deal on one.

Should work fine - very little difference between S430 and S500.
