Quick question
Just talked to my dealer and asked to replace it.
The answer was that he's not sure if MB going to replace it under warranty, but he will talk to MB rep. about it.
What do you think / experienced, such things shall be covered by manufacturer's standard warranty?
If your vehicle is still in its new vehicle warranty period (4 year / 50k mile), then yes, they should replace it under warranty.
I was kinda surprised getting an answer that that kind of replacement would not covered though...

Try other dealerships.
Any other suggestions?
I told to service manager that I want that wood panel to be replaced and the answer was - no. He said the fading of wood from sun or whatever is not covered.
Well, I said that I have to talk to MBUSA rep regarding this.
At the time I went there to pickup my S500 from service, service manager said that he ordered that wood panel and will install it in a few days...

item's like that should be replaced under warranty...
my wood panels on the doors haven't faded yet...on a 10 year old car mind you :p
but glad it worked out
But under certain light conditions You can see that the area of wood panel on the passenger side was a little different (faded) color than on driver's side... It was not that obvious.
Yet, before I ran out of manufacturer's warranty (another month or so) I thought why not to get everything that not quite right?
Well, its not completely faded

damn only another month! Take it to a good dealer again before it ends!
Trying to find anything that could be exchanged to a new one using MB warranty.
I have aftermarket warranty for another 4 years though...
