Spacers

Hi, I have a 2006 S430 and I'm switching out my 17's for 18's. The size of the 18's are: 245/45/R18. The guy wants me to put spacers on the vehicle with these new sized rims. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

that's the tire size , you need to know the wheel size , bolt pattern and offset

the AMG option Mercedes 18 inch wheels were 5x112 bolt pattern and 45 offset

if you are buying wheels with a different bolt pattern then 5x112 they won't fit and you'll have to use spacers/adapters to get the proper bolt pattern . That's probably why they are saying you need spacers .But chances are the wheels will stick out of the wheel well because of these spacers . I would not buy any wheels that don't have the correct 5x112 bolt pattern

if the bolt pattern of the wheels is 5x112 and
if the offset is 35 to 45 you won't need any spacers . They will fit and you should not run spacers if you don't need to as they can cause vibration.
