Which components make up the security set for a W220?
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a W220 which is missing the key and the EIS module.
I have another W220, they're both S430s. I want to test the engine if it works and what problems the car has.
Which components do I need to take over to the other one to make it run? I know the ECU, key and the EIS module but what else? Shifter? Steering Lock?
Thanks for the help.

There's no steering lock on the W220.
The security set comprises the EIS, ECU, TCM (the shifter) and the keys.
(I just renewed the insurance on my S600, and I can only presume that the risk of theft is low.)

I have a problem with the ECU. One of the W220s is a 1999 and the other is a 2000. The ECUs are different and the plugs are different so I can't take the security set I have and put it into the other one. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do. I didn't expect the ECU to be different. On the 1999 one, everything is there except when I bought the car the EIS and key were missing. It has the ECU and shifter but no EIS and key.
What do you guys recommend. I only really want to start it to make sure it runs and the gearbox is fine because I'm planning to part this car out but I really don't know the condition of the running gear so I don't want to pull it out and not know what I have.

That actually sounds pretty sensible but it's going to be a massive headache. I'll see if I can borrow a matching security set from a scrap yard place even if I pay a little. Honestly didn't see this coming.
