I need some help here, both my dealer and MBUSA have told me no upgrade is available. Has anyone done this yet and if so do you have cost and part #'s.

If you would like me too I will post the emails from MBUSA! They are very funny, at first they explain this is avail, and then they say it is not.

The 2000 S-Class was orginally introdcued with a Star Tac (Analog) phone as an option. Later in 2000 Mercedes came out with a retrofit kit to allow use of the Digital Star Tac for clients that already have the analog version. I beleive the retrofit part # is BQ682 0447.

Not sure the dealer called mine a micro-tac. It looks like an older flip phone without the flip. My business partner who has a 2000 s430 has the star-tac in his and they are two different phones. Any thoughts?

I believe Adam is right. S500 phone is analog and that retrofit is the upgrade.

If that is the case, you should still be able to upgrade and buy the necessary parts to bring your 2000 S Class into the Digital Phone age with a Digital Star Tac. (kit part # BQ682 0446 -- I think.)

Most dealers don't know much about the phone systems. I had to do all my own research to learn what I know. Since then, the parts manager at my local dealer has called me to ask questions about the phone..... Interesting, isn't it ?!?!
