New Here
I'm trading an old honda for an old s600 this weekend. I've been doing a bit of research and so far it looks like this will be a fun project. I'm looking forward to learning a bit more and getting to know the ppl around here. Any information yall can provide is appreciated.

Just as another note, the car does have a misfire. The codes are p0300-306. I plan on taking the coil pack off after getting the car home and checking plugs/boots, and inspecting the coil packs. Hopefully I'll have an idea on where to go from there.

Welcome!
There are huge amounts of info on this forum, and on MBWorld. Search will give you detailed suggestions.
You can rent a coil pack, return it if the coil pack is not the problem. You can also buy a rebuilt coil pack that has good reviews. Replace the red sleeves, use the correct plugs.
Give very serious consideration to buying SDS - the MB dealer-level computerized diagnostic system. The most important tool you can have! You can sell it when/if you no longer need it, recovering all or most of the cost.

I appreciate the welcome. Yea i registered over on MBworld as well. It looks like both are fairly active. I was rather hoping to get away with just an mb ii or something similar, but if it comes to it may have to get the SDS. For now I'll just be happy to have it cleaned up and running on all 12 cylinders.

Now that I think about it, the battery is completely dead on the car. I'm not sure what chances are that this could cause the voltage transformer to malfunction, but I'll have to replace it first.

Low voltage can cause a truly amazing variety of problems on a W220. I suggest that you get a BIG battery. Cheap can cause problems for as long as you have the car.

I was honestly planning on just getting a group 49 battery, likely from autozone or maybe sams. I figured a new battery should at least solve any potential issues there, knowing it may reappear later down the road.

Well I got a new battery in so I was able to pull the car into the garage. Took the coil pack off and found 1 coil burnt. I couldnt see any other issues with it, so I'm not sure if that will be cause of the entire bank misfiring. If anyone has any ideas on if that will be the issue or if I should just go ahead with renting a VT unit for testing, I'd appreciate it.
While the car is apart, I'll be replacing plugs and valve cover gaskets. Both gaskets are leaking and will need to be done.
