Flip noise at initial 25mph
Hello, I have an S430 4matic with 145000 miles. I noticed consistently I hear the sound of something like a flap flipping in the front of the car when I get to 25mph for the first time each drive. I only notice it when the sound system is off as it's quiet and can very lightly be felt. It is not a shift change and it is consistent. Does anyone what this might be?

Update. The flip noise was a loose splash shield cover rust in front of the front passenger wheel. I guess 25mph was enough to move it and make a sound.
However, with that noise removed, I discovered another noise. It is consistent with the shift into and through 3rd gear only. It sounds like the jetsons and the sound comes from the passengers floor near the wheel well. I will make a new post about that.

Does it change in pitch with speed? Is the noise different whether you're turning to the left or right? Does it change when you ride the brake pedal? Does it change if you manually shift into a different gear?

Hi, I did a separate post on it. There is video with it happening. It is sensitive to the transmission gear 3. I did neutral and reved when it was making the noise and it went away til I got back in that gear. I will have to experiment to find out more. The breaks are new pads rotors and the bearing is tight.

Ok, so the noise remains constant with the engine speed in that one gear only regardless of turning or breaking. I did the manual shift and the noise is actually IN GEAR 4 and only in gear 4.
The noise has been quieter now that I'm driving around trying to get a good recording of it. I have a new theory that this may be related to the car sitting a lot (<3k miles last year) and maybe with some regular driving it is getting the fluid moved around and the noise is going way?
