Noise from passenger side of trunk

Very new to Mercedes but just acquired a 2003 s500. It is making a short burst of electrical noise from the left side of the trunk just in front of the disk changer. It lasts about a second and happens at least every 5 seconds. Sounds like some sort of actuator. Somebody mentioned it was a pump for pressurizing doors. any ideas on what it would take to fix short of taking it in? How big of a deal is it if this stops working all together? Any help is appreciated.

if it’s your pse pump it controls your door locks, door and trunk closure , etc . It’s over $1000 if it burns up

disconnect the 20amp fuse under the rear seat to unplug it until you find and fix the air leak

Replace the PSE fuse. Roll the driver's window down, then try locking and unlocking each door, the gas filler door and the trunk. If you have adjustable seat bolsters, try them. Try releasing the rear headrests. Listen for any hissing sounds. Anything that doesn't work is a probable leak.

If the pump continues to run, pull the fuse again and leave it out until you know why it is running.
