No Drive in any gear - help please
1999 S320 722.6 transmission. The previous owner tells me he was parked, put the car in reverse, it moved about half a metre and then no drive. I have cleaned oil from TCM, replaced contact plate and plug in transmission. Jacked car up. Turning 1 rear wheel by hand turns the other rear wheel in the opposite direction. This is normal I believe. Engine running and rear wheels off the ground - in any gear (including reverse) both rear wheels turn forwards slowly. In park, the wheels don't move and lock as they should. Codes are P0500 and P0720 which relate to speed sensors. A more complex OBD2 reader said shifter issue. It appears the shifter is working correctly so could it be further down the line - TCM perhaps. Transmission fluid is at the correct level. I am not a mechanic - but could it be a sensor or the torque converter? Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

There is a plastic linkage that often fails on the shifter linkage. Sometimes the C clip that attaches the other metal shift linkage to the transmission can fail. Replace the bushings while you’re there
