Is there a definitive answer to the sudden loss of kick-down & engine limited to 3K rpm? I've seen loads of comments about the MAF, turbo hoses, gearbox 're-learning' and whilst these work for some people, it seems most people find they aren't the solution.
I lost my kick down some time last week and only noticed when I went for a quick acceleration and didn't get one!
The next day it was back, and later the same day it was gone again. This seems to rule out a split turbo hose.
Car is a 2002 W220 3.2D
