Hey guys, driving S430 1999.

It was shifting 1st - 2nd gear rougly last few months, oil level good, other stuff cleaned and working without any errors.

Today got a hard hit when gear was changing and in the same time new error came: Airmatic, visit workshop.

Next time i powered on the car, it's stuck in limp mode (only 2nd gear), tried to turn ignition off, wait and then start again, same stuff.

And every time before i start to drive, i put in Drive mode, Airmatic error comes on.

I know it could be cause of water damage, i'm washing car pretty often now cause of bad weather.

on Tuesday will see in memory what was the cause of limp mode, hope nothing serious, really weird that transmission got in limp mode together with Airmatic error,

Near impossible to be chain type fault. You drive a twenty year old car that if not already will start to get very expensive to maintain.

 

It's not so bad.

But today it appeared like this, when i change it from Parking to Drive, the airmatic visit workshop appears. When i take it out of drive, error disapears, so i dont know how, but its somehow connected all in all. And only in Drive mode error appears.

But still stuck in 2nd gear.

 

Have you checked and cleaned the TCM (Transmission Control Module)?
Have you checked and cleaned the HVAC plenum drain?
