Found this on the S55 side of the board posted by AMG FANATIC:
I found this on the net. Looks very nice!

While BMW continues to run into flak for its avant guard styling, Mercedes-Benz will be more evolutionary with the next S-Class, to be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show next year. But there will be lots of innovation under the skin. See how it looks.
Among these new features are brand-new engines, plus more interior space - Merc wants to be best in class - and lots of high-tech features.
At the same time DaimlerChrysler will be pushing hard to ensure quality standards are at the level people expect from the three-pointed star.
The new S-Class body will use both steel and aluminum to reduce mass across the range by as much as 10% compared to the current cars.
The next S-Class features a very strong front end incorporating large, single-piece headlamps similar to those found on the current model. The bi-xenon units will incorporate Active Light Control technology, allowing the main beams to swivel in tandem with the front wheels for increased illumination.
Rear styling
The biggest styling change is at the back, similar to that on the upcoming CLS "four-door coupe".
The car is still big, as to be expected, similar in size to the current model but with a longer wheelbase and wider track to give more room inside.
As current;ly there will be standard and long wheelbase versions.
The engine lineup features a new range of modular V6 and V8 petrol engines, with a change from three-valve to four-valve cylinder heads and the adoption of Mercedes' Twin Pulse direct-injection technology as fitted on its four-cylinder motors.
The final lineup is still unclear, but expect a base 3.5-litre 203 kW V6, a 4.7-litre 242 kW V8 and a 5.5-litere 306 kW V8. It's also expected there will be a 5.5-litre 373 kW twin-turbo V12.
And that's apart from the AMG versions!
No kompressor
The surprise is that supercharging has gone by the board - instead plans are to have a "base-line" 373 kW normally aspirated 6.3-litre, plus the replacement for the S65 AMG, using an updated version of the 6.0-litre 456 kW twin-turbo V12.
The new engines will drive through Mercedes' 7G-tronic seven-speed automatic transmission.
The suspension is an evolution of the AirMatic system, with upper-end models getting a refined version of Mercedes' roll-reducing Active Body Control system.
The Sensotronic Brake Control is being redesigned to return to fully hydraulic operation and the Distronic cruise control system will include a lane departure warning system.
Simplified dashboard controls and more intuitive operation are among the aims of the new car's interior, which receives a central controller and steering column-mounted gear lever.
Also planned is night vision that uses an infrared camera, a wireless communication and data interface, electrically height-adjustable door armrests and the electro-chromatic glass roof from the Maybach.

the only things bothering me now are the column shifter and the CLS type of rear end. I am looking forward to everything else. It sounds like its going to be a great car

I'll have to show this to my mom, seems like a good car(they took a lot of things from lexus). It's just that it seems like a Mitsubishi when I look at it, anyone else getting that feeling? I guess a fully loaded S600 will cost about $140,000 + a $10K mark up? Will supply meet demand? Will the night vision, and maybach roof be optional?

Nice to see autospies has it right all the way long,
My point though is wud S really have Maybach kinda roof? I mean You dont get it on the 57 so what makes one think it will come on the S?
2nd thing is im not sure the rear will have reclining seats even in LWB i dont think there is enough space for that, In maybach too they have it only on 62,
And if there car looks just like an evolution of the current S, Wudnt a lot of people be disappointed?
And they better add more seat adjustments!! And make the seat ventilators more powerful, In India the current ones make no big diff at all even with Summer Opening,
And yeah reduce the sunroof rattling sound.

Here is the latest set of S-Class computer enhanced images which are actually not too far of the camouflaged pics.
Interesting is that the Maybach design appears to make it into the back of the car...
I personally like it!
