retrofit 2003 headlight into 2000 ground issue( solved)
i know that this retrofit has been in many many threads and i read them all + i watched every video on youtube on that subject but i still have issue . i have a s500 2000 .. 4 days back i did the conversion with all the necessary wiring for the bi xenon lights motor and THE GROUND WIRE FROM THE LAST SOCKET and all the lights was working perfectly (i followed the instruction very carefully ) but one day later i suddenly got malfunction on my dash for all the lights except the xenon light (low beam) ...... the small little light on the first click lights very dim i can barely see them.... so i checked the pulps and replaced them with new ones and still the same issue only xenon working ( no signal , fog, high beam lights anymore ). any help or suggestions is really appreciated

well i finally fixed the issue . the problem was that the ground wire wasn't strong enough ( previously i connected ground to small bolt on the chassis which was for the bumper support ( i guess ) .but what i did now is that i connected the passenger headlight ground to the main ground and the driver headlight ground to the main ground on that side and wallaah every thing worked fine.hope this can help someone if anyone got stuck like me

Hello, I’m having a similar issue with my 2000 S-500 drivers side headlights. I just replaced every bulb (HID, turn signal, H7, H1) and still can’t get any other light to work except the HID (low beam).
I’m having trouble finding ground wires (brown) for these. Could you please post some pics of the ground wires you mentioned that solved your issue?

Thanks for the super quick response. Yes I still clarification on which of the 2 connectors and how did you splice them together? I’m trying to avoid cutting the wires from the connector but at this point it’s probably the quickest and cheapest fix. A picture of the connector with the cable attached would probably explain it.
thanks again!

yes i understand that u dont wanna cut connectors which u dont have to by the way if you dont care about the auto alignment feature, but if u do then u will have to either cut this square connector or make two connectors together , as for the big connector in your picture , this one u will use it as it is no need for modification the o
anyways i will send you a video link from youtube it was my guide to do this retrofit and its the best out there from my opinion, the only thing that he said wrong is that you have to connect the ground wire to the car ground . when u will watch the video u will understand what i mean
