Can anyone please explain to me how to clear codes from my s430? I have took it to a shop that specializes in Mercedes and they could not clear the codes from car with star machine. I even bought one of those icarsoft scanners to try and remove codes. But failed. will will reset engine light but say car still have codes. What can I do to fix this?

What codes do you have? If you have a static fault certain codes can reset immediately.

SDS (STAR Diagnostic System) will show problem codes at one of two levels.

A code shown as "f" is a stored code, meaning that it happened sometime in the past. These can normally be easily cleared with SDS. In the USA, if the code was one of the Federally-required emission diagnostic codes, most OBD-II code scanners will clear it.

A code shown as "F" is a current and stored code. These can be cleared with SDS - but they will immediately be reset until the problem is fixed.

SDS includes elaborate diagnostic routines that will usually lead you thru steps to determine the actual failure, allowing you to fix the problem. The code will then change from "F" to "f", and can be cleared.

I understand, I have replaced the TCU and conductor plate and solenoids. I do not know what else will cause it to still shift very firmly. Only thing that is showing up is esp/ABC code. Wheel speed sensor fault. And I dont think that will cause the check engine light to stay on.

"Only thing that is showing up is esp/ABC code. Wheel speed sensor fault."

An S430 doesn't normally have ABC, so that can probably be disregarded. I don't use icarsoft, so no idea of what it can do, but SDS will allow you to determine which wheel speed senor is faulty.

It could be helpful if you actually told us what the exact code is - it is pretty difficult to give us too much info...

When I get back home today after work, I will list codes that it has. Thanks
