old s430 with no key...sitting flat on the ground, can i get it up without the key?
Subscribeok, i need some mercedes viagra here. my friend has an impound yard and got this '01 s430. obviously no key....so he had me go to mercedes and order one but they are adamant that the key will not be given out until the car is towed TO THEM! when they towed the car originally (2yrs ago), it was aired up. but now, it is flat on the ground.
does anyone have any tips to get this thing aired up so i don't have to drag it up onto the flatbed? it has what i believe is a lorinser kit on it and i hate to tear it up. from my research, i'm SOL. but figured i'd ask you guys.

You can jack the car and insert wooden blocks (rubber blocks are better, but wood is much easier to get) between the suspension arms and the chassis. This is an approved Mercedes tactic, and they even have part numbers for the rubber blocks.
Google is your friend - search for every variety of question on the subject that you can think of, and I'll bet that you can find a design - or at least a description - somewhere on the net.

i actually (specifically) asked for ways to air it up, as i didn't want to find a way to force jacks under the car (with the ground effects, it was literally on the rocks all the way around). i'm quite proficient with using google, thanks. i appreciate the arrogate response. now if we could work on your reading comprehension, you wouldnt have had to respond did, and i wouldn't have come down to your level.
being an a-hole to someone because they're a "newbie" to the forum shouldn't be acceptable.
in the end i hooked a chain to the rear of it and dragged it up onto the trailer (as, in mercedes all knowing ingenuity they also don't allow the car to be put into neutral without the key). got the key, fuel pump was bad, replaced that....now it runs but airmatic doesn't work. So, i think it'll be on it's way to the junk yard.

Wally was skipping over a lot of information to get you to the final decision you needed to get the car to where it could be properly fixed.
I believe most of us on this forum will be better off if you tow that car to the junkyard, go back to driving your Toyota and leave this forum and MB classics to those less ignorant than you..

I thought I had an OEM Mercedes part number but I can't find it for the Mercedes rubber blocks That you put in the springs to keep them up after you jack it up, I'll keep looking, I know they made them, I bought a set of four for my 2003 S500.which I no longer have You can also use blocks of 2X4 as well if you must, the video above shows you how to do that, sorry I'm not more help, good luck.

A friend went to Harbor Freight and bought rubber parking chocks, some large nylon wire ties and a hacksaw, and made a set of rubber blocks that got his S430 home after a strut failure. Not as convenient, but a lot cheaper.
