Is there a reset process after replacing battery??

Is there a reset process after replacing battery??
I read somewhere that there is a reset process you need to do if you remove your battery and put it back in to get everything working in order again. If there is, any links to pages that will tell me what i need to do? 2002 S500.
Also, i replaced the assist pump in the trunk, as mine was shot. After replacing it, nothing happned, didn't work. So i unplugged the battery overnight to see if that would make it kick back in. Or maybe i got a bad pump, not sure. Thanks in advance.

Yes there is. I replaced the starting battery in my ML350 and the hatch would not work automatically anymore I took it to an Indy and for $50 they did the reset. Money well spent since I did the hard stuff (replacing the battery under the passenger seat).

Thank you sir! I replaced the fuse, that got the pump working again. Haven't driven it yet to see what else it needs after the battery was reconnected. Might end up doing what you did. Just take it in and have them reset it.

With the engine running, turn the steering wheel all the way left, all the way right, then all the way left again.
On each window, hold the switch to go down, and hold the switch down for four seconds or so after it bottoms out, then hold the switch to go up, and hold the switch for four seconds or so after it tops out.
Do the same thing with the sunroof.
Run each front seat fully forward, holding the switch after it stops for four seconds or so. Repeat going back.
If you have a problem with the steering column, do the same reset for up/down and in/out.
You might not really need to do each of these, but it is free, can't hurt, and might prevent a problem.

Awesome, thank you so much. I had to do it for the sunroof and windows as they weren't going auto up nor auto down. and sunroof was only opening an inch at a time. Appreciate that good sir!
