I strongly suggest you purchase an ANCEL FX4000 ($249 on AMAZON) to properly diagnose your auto and 'fix' things. MBZ s class cars have very complicated electronics and using 'logic' is like trying to understand 'raised eyebrows' of a woman you just met. There are different 'communication' systems--some use wires (CAN) some use fiber optics (D2B, MOST, ?) and some use inter-stellar links?
My point is: The Diagnostic Assistant System (DAS) can be extremely useful---if you know the undocumented 'secret menus' and such. It is a series of computer programs that asks questions and your answers lead to other questions etc. EACH vehicle is different and the applicable DAS is often different. Would 'logic; tell you the 'teleaide' emergency phone system is under the passenger rear seat behind the fuse panel there? Or that on some vehicles the A/C system has some fuses inside the passenger side front dash?, etc. Or there are main (high amp) fused power distribution junctions under the passenger carpet and access panel?
