Noises from belt tensioner
Hi all,
I my car - 2001 W220 S500 with ABC - has some issue with the belt tensioner. I've changed two brand new belt tensioners already because when the ABC Tandem Pump is working harder on low RPM(for example when turning the steering wheel) the tensioner starts to make rattling noises. A visual inspection showed, as if the tensioner was compressing and decompressing and thus touching its limiter and making the annoying sound. It can be seen in the video here:
https://youtu.be/Pm3k8o4OKTY
On RPM higher than idle the belt is tensioned correctly and there is no noise. It happens only on idle and when the Tandem Pump has to build pressure - eigther for the suspension to rise up, ir for the steering.
Did anybody had such an issue?
Best Regards,
Svetoslav

you sure it is the tensioner, but not the crankshaft drive pulley?
That one to my knowledge on that engine has a rubber damper between the inner and outer part.
good luck!

drive pulley
I'am pretty sure that the sound is being made from the tensioner pulley. I have just changed the drive pulley and its brand new. You can see in the video how the tensioner is hitting its limmiter all the time.
