new '04 S430 for $68k?

I know it's difficult to say if it's a good deal without further info, but that's all my husband could remember that the salesman told him. I'm trying to get more info on it but just wanted to know your reactions off the bat. He says it's discounted about $8k or $9k. From what I can tell, it seems to be the last '04 they have on the lot. My husband was just inquiring about an '04 E-Class for his father and the salesman mentioned the S430. Hubby is thinking about getting the S and giving his E to his father.

TIA!

Went to see the car in question. They have 3 black on black '04 S430s that just came in this week. They're all exactly the same - only option is the CD changer. They sticker for $75,380, invoice $70,154. Considering they already have '05s on the lot, and the trunk money, $68k seems like way too much.

Thoughts? Opinions? If the car were for me, I definitely would pass.

TIA, again!

To be honest with you I only bought my Brand New 04' S430 for $65K w/ AMG package, Keyless Go, Electronic Sunshades, Active Vented Seats, Trunk Opener......., OF course we also bought a G500 at the same time. I think we got one hell of a deal because we bought two cars at the same time, both were none moving items that the dealer has had for a long time. Take your time looking for better deals. Otherwise $64 For an S-Class is not too bad after all. Just make sure it has all the goodies....and also make sure it's not lime green. :p

new 04 s430 for 68k

considering that there is 6k trunk money, (incentive to dealer) i would have expected the dealer to give him a little better deal, he should figure 11-12 off msrp for a good deal.

Thanks for the info! I noticed there was an incentive, but had no idea how much it was.
