Recently I have been facing the problem that my cd changer is not working in my car. As a result, the telephone function does not work. When I start the car for the first time in the morning then the cd changer works but after a minute the sound disappears and the message "no cd changer" is displayed and the message "no phone" is displayed next to the phone function. Tried to replace the cd changer with another used one but no change, the error still exists. Maybe there is a problem with the telephone control unit because it is also connected to this optical circuit? The diagnostics show an error on the radio "N1113". I don't believe that there is a fault in the optical circuit because its function can work for a while and then disappear, because I don't drive and move it while getting into the car while the cd changer is working, it just stops working. I don't have a Bose audio system. Maybe there are suggestions on how to fix this problem at home?

The fiber optic loop that these cars use to communicate among devices is referred to as the MOST ring. The devices in this ring must be powered on in order for the loop to not be broken. They are not pass-through devices. What this means is that when your CD changer dies, it takes down the rest of the devices that are downstream of it with itself. The device "order" depends on what equipment your car has but if I remember correctly, in the S-Class, it goes HU (Head unit) ---> VCS (voice command)-----> Navigation Box in trunk -----> CD Changer ------> Satellite Radio ------> Cell Phone -----> AMP -----> AGW (Audio Gateway) -----> then back to HU. When your CD changer dies, it's taking itself and your cell phone out because it is downstream of it.
I have Satellite radio so when I lost my CD Changer because it died, I bypassed it in the loop and went on about my business. If you want to keep your cell phone untile you figure out a solution for your CD Changer then, bypass it.
You do this by taking the plugs out of the back of the device with the orange optical fiber and re-arranging it to skip the CD Changer. You will end up with an extra fiber optic piece and an extra plug so save that for when you replace your changer.
Also, remember the HU (head unit) plays CDs also so if you really need to listen to a CD while driving, you can still do so. Just press the eject button on the HU and insert your CD.
