I assume that you have checked the fuse - did you use the correct fuse chart for your car to ensure that you were checking the correct fuse?
My 2003 COMAND unit had a fuse on the back of the unit - it wasn't on the fuse chart.
You need to know what the electronic box in the bottom of the fender is. There are several units that usually live back there - audio amp, telephone control, CD player, etc. Most certain way will be to get the part number off the existing unit and look it up. On my cars, the audio amp was the bottom box in the stack.
