Rear trunk won't open
I'm a proud new owner of a 2005 s55.
Need your help, please.
We can't get the rear trunk to open.
- New battery in car
- New battery in keyfob
- ABC pump works fine
When we put the physical key into the tumbler, it does not open it either. Scratching head...it used to, but now it doesn't.
Does anyone here have any experience with this issue? We are really perplexed and could use some guidance. Thought I would ask owners here first before taking it to an Indy shop and giving them permission to "explore".
Also, is there a secondary switch inside the car that allows you open the trunk? If so, I can't find it.
Thank you for time!
the pse pump controls the trunk lock . The pse pump is in the trunk but you can reset it by pulling the 20 amp fuse under rear passenger seat and see if that reactivated it
if the fuse reset doesn’t work and metal key doesn’t work you’ll have to pull the plastic panel around the rear license plate to enter the trunk

The metal key can be tricky. Turning the key one way turns off the trunk opening system, so that you can leave the valet the key fob, but he can't get into the trunk. (Does that situation sound familiar?) Turning the key the other way and pushing in/up while turning a little more opens the trunk manually.
