Question location of bluetooth puck on 2003-2006 W220

hi, i have a 2004 mercedes cl600 which had the bluetooth puck available as an option, but the original owner did not order it. i was able to get one and i know it is an easy installation inside the center console. pretty much plug and play. unfortunately i cannot seem to find the connection where it plugs in. i know i have one because years ago i borrowed a friends bluetooth puck and we installed it and it worked properly. this a an MB v60 adaptor which is the small bluetooth adaptor, not the large one which is more recent. i would greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me where to connect this inside the center console. if anyone needs more information i'll be happy to provide it.
thank you
this should be the same location as the 2003-2006 e class, s430, s500, s600.

I am not an expert in this area by any means, so don't take this as the final word on the subject.

My understanding is that there were two different Bluetooth setups available.

The one that I have had in both a prior 2003 S43 and my current 2003 S500 was based upon replacing the car's original analog cell phone with a Bluetooth puck that simply snapped into, and plugged into, the holder/charger/connector for the original cell phone. The holder was mounted in the right side of the center console, and the console lid had a second, smaller lid, that allowed easy access to the phone. This system works pretty well as a phone, but has no other connection to the car - i.e., you can not send music from the connected cell phone thru Bluetooth, nor is there any internet access.

The other system was usually called "a puck with a tail", and was a Bluetooth puck with a connecting cable that plugged into a connector inside the center console. There was no cell phone holder. My impression is that it also functioned as a phone only, but I am not certain of that, as I have never seen this system.

The connections for the phone mount came from underneath the center console, and could be accessed by taking out the upper floor of the console compartment. I have been told that the two systems are not easily mixed nor easily changed - again, no personal knowledge.

I cannot comment on the 2003 W220 because it was built with an older system. The 2004 through 2006 W220 had the bluetooth connection on the floor of the center console as an option. My 2006 S65 was built with "prewiring" but no mounting clip for the puck. I suspect this is how your car is configured. If it were there you would see the mounting clip when the console lid is open. It is about 3/4" square and maybe 1/4" high. I had the dealer add the mounting clip. It was not a trivial job, the console had to be removed. While they were taking the interior apart I had them add voice control and the Sirius satellite radio components at the same time, none of which were part of the build order. I got a reasonable package price.
I bought the actual puck myself online. The original 2006 era silver pucks were replaced later with a smaller black puck that works better.
