Saw the WORST 220 S600 EVER in denver today
Getting the S55 hand washed and this yahoo pulls in a S-class. Thinking to myself cool lets check it out. Right off the bat i see the V12 badge so its got to be an S600 right? Well that is when things get funny. After taking a look at the car i cant help but laugh. This guy has put in 04 tail lights (nothing wrong with than in fact it was cool) but this guy had chrome all around, as if the tail lights were encased in a chrome trim.....ouch. Then I see he has the quad exhaust ala S55 S65 nice but a closer look shows that he had removed the 02 rear tips and put on 04 tips. The two inside tips were connected to nothing at all, they were just there. Look up at the trunk i see the S600 badge (which by now i was getting the feeling it was a 430) and on the right end of the lid was...........4Matic. S600 4Matic hmmmmmm. And he had chromed out the door handle housings too. When you grab the handle its the part of the door behind the handle that is entirely chrome.
I SOOOOO Wish i had my camera. Then again I think he knew we were talking/snickering about his car as the S55 was right next to his.
I ask why do that the S600 (if it was one) is a great car! Shame he is fooling some people but if you guys saw it you would laugh your *** off at it.

i love laughing at those posers! Ive seen two fake S600 before, one more one that was very obvious was the one with the exaust but with no V12 symbol on the side trim, but V12 almost everywhere else.

Funny thing is, he claims its a 2004, no clear headlights! Nor the new tail lights....hehe

lol... Come to Brooklyn.. These wanna be guidos drive around in their recently purchased used S Class, mostly 430's badged out to be 600's. One is so bad, the exhaust tips are practically hanging off the rear bumper.
Not sure why they do this. Benz owners know the difference of value and performance of the 600 and the majority of non-benz owners do not or don't even care.
At any rate, it makes for a good laugh when I pull up beside them, stare at them with all their fake gold and diamonds and speed off when the light turns green. Afterall, they only wish they had a real 600.....

First of all when I bought my S500 Sport the original owner installed headlight rings at the time of initial new car purchase (i.e. MB original rings). I would't say that I love 'em but they look ok and I don't really see the point of taking them off.
BTW, chrome headlight rings on W211 are UGLY!
IMHO tail lights chrome rings are TOO MUCH and even on silver or balck car they look ugly.
Regarding the chrome door handle shells, I just recently added them. The reason is not the way they look (and actually they don't look that bad IMO). The main reason to protect that part of the door from scratches. Most of the ladies riding with me have quite a nails and I learned the hard way from my previos cars that that part of the door MUST BE PROTECTED! :p
