CD Changer issue
I have a problem with my 2001 S500 stereo:
The CD changer gets a harsh digital "crackling" between songs (and later, during songs) when the changer's been playing for awhile, i.e, when it gets hot. Hot weather makes it worse, although sometimes when I restart the car (after getting gas for example) it gets quiet again.
Additionally, when it gets hot and/or has been playing for a few hours, CD's start skipping like crazy. Stuttering is more like it, and it's pretty awful.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it the CD changer, the head unit, or both? Is it easy to repair if the CD changer or does it need to be recapped or something?
